In McHenry County the penalties for getting a DUI can vary.  We have twenty seven different prosecuting authorites in McHenry County.  While many of them are represented by two or three law firms, there are a lot of different prosecuting styles.  In some jurisdictions the suspension of a driver’s license can be dealt with easily, in others (as Borat would say) “Not so much.”

So here’s the inside scoop.  If you had to pick jurisdictions to avoid, you would avoid Algonquin, Lake in the Hills and Huntley.  Also, anywhere the McHenry County Sheriff might patrol would not be ideal locations to get a DUI as far as the automatic suspension is concerned.

Secondly, If you want to guess if you are over the limit, generally if you consume one drink an hour and you don’t have a liver problem, you should be safe to drive.  Of course, it depends on the size of the drink and your size, but chances are you won’t blow over in those situations.
